Now, the 2018 edition of Market Days is just around the corner, and we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about it!
Market Days: What to Know
When is it? This year’s festival takes place on the weekend of August 11th and 12th, running from 11:00 am 10:00 pm both days. It’s a rain or shine event, but be aware that severe weather conditions may delay or cancel any performance.
Where is it? The festival takes place in Boystown, on Halsted Street, and runs from Belmont to Addison. If taking public transportation, you’re always close to the CTA Belmont Red/Brown/Purple Line Station, or the CTA Addison Red Line Station.
Does it cost anything? There is a $10 suggested donation for entry, to help keep Boystown safe, beautiful and fun.
What’s Happening at This Year’s Festival?
There’s always plenty going on at Market Days. With estimated attendance each year approaching 200,000 people from near and far, this festival truly represents all colors of the rainbow. The celebration runs a half-mile of North Halsted in the Boystown neighborhood, America’s first recognized gay village.
The daily lineup features music on four different stages, over 200 unique vendors, arts, crafts, great food and drink, and a whole lot more! Performers include musicians MAX, Betty Who, Martha Wash, and Todrick Hall. Don’t forget about the after parties, either. DJs Rosabel will headline a show at the Aragon Ballroom on Saturday evening, while Drama will host the festivities on Sunday at the House of Blues. Dance the night away and do it in style!
