2018 Jeep Compass Review

The 2018 Jeep Compass is a compact SUV drivers in Chicago, Skokie, Park Ridge and Forest Park should consider as their next ride. This compact SUV is known for its off-roading capabilities. But with its many convenient interior features and strong tech offerings, it’s more than just an off-roading vehicle.

To help in your search for a car that’s perfect for your lifestyle, see what Jeep has to offer in the 2018 Jeep Compass Review.

Interior Amenities

The Compass has room for five, with enough legroom to handle adults and children alike. The available heated driver and front passenger seats keep you warm in the coldest of Midwest winters. No matter what the temperature outside the cabin is, you’ll be comfortable inside. The available heated steering wheel can also warm things up in the morning or on a cold evening, for maximum comfort around the clock.

The innovative adjustable cargo floor can also be moved to load gear in more easily. There are three settings. Keep it low, in the middle or all the way up, for complete cargo flexibility on every drive. The rear cargo area comes with standard 60/40 rear seats, which fold flat for passenger and cargo-carrying. For extra-lengthy cargo when you’re traveling alone, fold down the front passenger seat and take advantage.

Off-Road Capability

The 2.4-liter engine found on the Compass does a good job to effectively combine performance and efficiency and provides up to 180-horsepower. When taking this SUV off pavement, it truly shines. The Compass offers two different 4×4 systems, including the available Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low, which offers Trail Rated® power.

That power comes from the Selec-Terrain® Traction Management system, a feature standard on all 4×4 Compass SUVs. This allows you to choose from up to five on- and off-road modes. The auto setting can handle pavement, but there’s snow, sand and mud options, too. And on the Trailhawk™ trim, a fifth setting – rock – lets you drive even on rocky surfaces. And with the insulated electrical connections and high air intake, the Compass can easily travel streams and flooded roadways up to 19 inches deep.

Engaging Technology

The Jeep Compass comes standard with the Uconnect® system, giving you control over your entertainment, communication and navigation options. A 5-inch touchscreen comes standard along with Bluetooth® technology, which lets you play music from your phone and make hands-free calls.

For a more premium-feeling experience, upgrade to the 8.4-inch touchscreen display, with a customizable home screen. A navigation system is available to assist with getting to your destination. And, if you really like to blast the tunes, the 9-speaker Beats premium audio system can turn up the music in a whole new way.
