2019 Chrysler Pacifica Review
The minivan is a time-honored vehicle for those looking for a reliable family hauler. Minivans can combine solid performance with tons of room for hauling people and cargo, as well as offering the best in luxurious entertainment technology. Even as sport utility vehicles have grown to rule the roads, there are still a lot of families across the Chicago area, from Forest Park to Park Ridge, to Skokie and beyond, who count on classic minivans.
When it comes to minivans, Chrysler is one of the longest-lasting legacy makers on the market today. The current iteration of this stylish minivan is the Pacifica, and a new model year is upon us. Let’s check out a review of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica to see what it has to offer in terms of comfort, convenience, performance, and options.
2019 Chrysler Pacifica
The latest model of the Pacifica is a carryover model from 2018. There are no new upgrades, but that presents no problem. The Pacifica was already a solid entry in the minivan sector, and that hasn’t changed. All Pacifica minivans are powered by a 287-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine that also generates 262 lb-ft of torque. It’s front-wheel drive and has a 9-speed automatic transmission.
It seats seven, but every model except for the base L trim can be increased to seating for eight. Speaking of trim levels, there are six. The base model L is followed by the LX. There are then three touring trims— the Touring Plus, the Touring L, and the Touring L Plus. Finally, the top-of-the-line model is the Limited trim.
Features and Options
The Pacifica offers a solid suite of options and features. At the base level, you get options like heated mirrors and keyless entry and ignition for convenience, as well as great safety options like Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and parking sensors. From an infotainment standpoint, you get a full system driven by a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ for smartphone app integration, as well as USB and auxiliary ports.
Stepping it up from there unlocks a massive range of features, starting with automatic engine stop-start to save on fuel, and including such features as a power liftgate and rear doors, satellite radio, and luxury features like heated seats and leather upholstery.
There’s sound-reducing cabin technology, xenon auto-dimming headlights, power mirrors, and even driver memory settings as you climb higher. You can even get true luxury trappings, like a Harman Kardon® sound system with a backseat entertainment system that includes 10-inch touchscreens on the seatbacks.
Of course, minivans are used as family haulers, and that means the ability to haul. Stow ’n Go® seating allows for maximization of cargo space in a snap, without the need to drag second- and third-row seats out. It also lets you utilize under-floor storage while the seats are folded up. It’s the best option on the market for versatile storage. In total, you’ll get up to 140 cubic feet of storage with the seats folded down.
