A new engine on this edition of the Cherokee is the 2.0-liter turbo, which provides 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, for better towing capability.

Saving the most powerful for last, get outstanding performance and efficiency with the available 3.2-liter Pentastar® V6 engine. This includes engine stop/start technology, which can shut the engine off at a stoplight or when idling to save fuel. It can tow up to 4,500 pounds.

Jeep Cherokee Miles Per Gallon

One thing to keep in mind about the Jeep Cherokee is that it can be driven in either a 4×2 or 4×4 set-up. The two-wheel drive Jeep Cherokee has four wheels, but only two wheels are driven. The 4×4 means there are four wheels and all four are driven, for increased traction. This can affect MPG as you might expect.
