About the Cancer Wellness Center

From its humble beginnings in 1989 being founded by three friends to the expansive organization it has grown to today, the Cancer Wellness Center has long been a ubiquitous source of support for those who have beat cancer and those who live with cancer. From their emotional well-being to their physical well-being, the Cancer Wellness Center strives to be a beacon of hope and support for those affected by cancer, all without additional financial strain; all services provided by the Cancer Wellness Center are free of charge.

The impetus for the creation of the Cancer Wellness Center was one major shortcoming in the cancer treatment process: the medical treatment is made clear by healthcare professionals, but it’s often left up to the patient to learn how to live with cancer and how to fight it. What better way to facilitate that kind of learning than to connect newly diagnosed patients to survivors? This buddy system was one of the first initiatives and programs provided by the Cancer Wellness Center, which has now grown to include licensed therapists and a dedicated team of exuberant volunteers. Ultimately, everyone involved with the Cancer Wellness Center has the same mission: to serve participants the absolute best care.

How to Get Involved 

Even with a team of full-time staff members and volunteers that support the Cancer Wellness Center mission, there’s more that can be done to tender the support participants need. From donating your time in the form of volunteering to monetary donations, any support you can provide is instrumental in assisting the Cancer Wellness Center in providing exceptional care to participants in need. 

Volunteer

If you’re interested in lending a helping hand to the Cancer Wellness Center, there are a number of places you can step in. At the center, you can help with office work or help with one of the many programs that are hosted at the center. Amidst the community, there are several annual fundraising events where volunteer help is instrumental in their success. From helping with registration to leading activities, volunteers are the backbone of Cancer Wellness Center fundraising efforts. Finally, if you’re looking to be even more involved, members can join the Cancer Wellness Center board of directors. The board ensures the fiscal health of the organization and forges the path for furthering the mission.

If you’re interested in helping the Cancer Wellness Center fulfill their purpose through financial gifts, there are numerous ways to donate. Firstly, you’re welcome to submit one-time donations with the option for your donation to be anonymous, and you can even suggest which initiative you wish your donation to support. You can also set up a recurring donation to conveniently show your consistent support. Some other ways to donate include tributes and memorials, legacy giving, donor-advised fund, stock giving, and even corporate match.
